Here is an OBIT I have used and abused for a long time. It has powered Tesla coils, Jacob's ladders, Marx generators, you name it. I got it for free from a sheetmetal shop. Every HV experimenter should have one or two laying around. I'm fond of them because they are a reasonable power source for High School students to use.
